Situated just 15 minutes north of Porirua and half an hour from Wellington, Plimmerton Boating Club is uniquely placed and enjoys 270 degree sea views. We have a large upstairs hall and veranda, with a licensed bar and full catering available. For an event big or small, our venue is perfect for your next wedding, conference or function.
Enjoy a wedding with sea views. Plimmerton Boating Club can offer you a wedding venue with one of the best scenic views in the country. The upstairs hall looks west out to Mana Island and south toward Porirua.
If you are looking for a venue for a small wedding or something more substantial, our large hall and outdoor area can cater for intimate ceremonies and larger wedding parties
Conferences and functions
Our large upstairs area can be set up as a large conference room or smaller meeting room depending on your needs. We have a quality audio visual suite that will more than meet your requirements. We have been providing conferences and functions for businesses in Porirua and Wellington for years. Our excellent kitchen staff can provide snacks, drinks, or something more filling.
The venue is equipped with a PA system for music and speeches with a wireless/fixed microphones, audio systems are included in venue hire charges. Customers can create play lists prior to their event; containing music of their choice and have it played through the PA.
Data projector and screen can be hired for $30.00. Arrangements for audio/video presentations should be made prior to your event to ensure compatibility with systems available. Video equipment is charged at a flat rate of $30.00 per day

"As the first Bride of the 2014/2015 wedding season I’m honored to write a glowing reference and recommendation for the Plimmerton Boating Club and staff for the absolutely stellar job they did in hosting our wedding in October.
We had the pleasure of 85 guests joining our celebration at the Boating Club which included our marriage ceremony followed by cocktails and nibbles, speeches, a large buffet meal, full bar service and DJ inspired music and dancing.
For us, the best measure of a successful event is guest feedback and we have been absolutely delighted by the positive comments we’ve received from our friends and family. At the top of the feedback list was how amazing the food was (Well done Chef!).
The food selection was ample and generous servings were available ensuring there was plenty to go around; not only that, but it also meant that the buffet always looked full and inviting. It was very obvious to all that significant time was taken to
prepare and present food that was appealing to the eye even after half the guests had ravaged the buffet. We even had parents telling us their fussy-eating children had seconds.
Service follows very closely to food and for the Boating Club their approach
to customer service really enhanced our guest experience. During the event the staff were attentive, approachable, helpful and happy in their work. Guests commented on how friendly and chatty the staff were and also how quickly and quietly they went about
